Good things are meant to share with good friends and so I’m sharing this with you...
I have found an organization that has touched my heart so deeply. The work they do to help children with special needs is so commendable that I have registered to participate in the Friendship Walk, a 5k walk-a-thon on Sunday, May 3rd,2009 to benefit this program and these very special kids.
100% of the money raised will go toward the Friendship Circle, a non-profit non-sectarian organization that utilizes the wisdom of professionals and the energetic spirit of teenagers to give these sweet children what they need most – friendship!
This program is offered to children with conditions like autism, Down’s syndrome, and other such challenges. You have to go on the website and learn more about it. Better yet, watch the video (but have a tissue ready for the tears – it is that moving!)
Even if you can’t make it to the event, you can still help by signing on as a "virtual walker" or sponsoring others to walk on your behalf.
